Your Body Type
When determining your personal style, knowing your body type is important.
Generally tall men can get away with looser fitting clothing, while short men can not. Regardless of your career or status, people always respond better to someone who is well dressed and looking confident
Accessorizing
Whether you decide to alter your appearance dramatically or just freshion up your image, you should always start from the feet up. Purchase the best fitting leather shoes that you can afford. Dirty, worn and inappropriate footwear can make your whole ensemble look frumpy and outdated. Choosing classic styles tie the look together and don't draw attention to your feet first.
Personal Style
Style is meant to be personal depending out your physical frame, hair color, facial shape, and more. Most men do not care to, haven't really thought about it, nor know how to determine their own personal style.Taking cues and style guidance from those who are also aclueistic is not the answer and only allows the blind to lead the blind. Seek out the services of those who can really help. Check for a TEB trained consultant in your area.
Your Health and Fitness
Fitness: If your goal is to tone up, then please join a structured gym who has trained staff to help you. Trying to do it on your own, unless you are structured yourself, doesn't always work. If you do it at home, grab an accountability partner and stick to them like glue.
Weight Loss: Losing weight is generally easy for men since they have more muscle mass which burns fat faster. To help you reach your weight goal, use simple guidelines that really work, instead of using unreliable "diets" that are only bandaids and do nothing to train you on how to keep the weight off. Eating moderately and nutritionally is always the best way to go, which takes pounds off sensibly and keeps it off. This does not mean that you can't eat "forbidden foods", since there aren't any that are forbidden, but only those that if eaten when you are not hungry can add pounds.
There are no special foods to buy or diet planning needed when you eat sensibly and in moderation. Check out the easy way right here that is tried and proven.

The Best Color Choices
|
Suits & Casual Wear
|
Primary: Navy, medium gray, black and charcoal are the power colors.
Secondary: Medium blue, olive, and khaki are for business casual dress.
|
Shirts
|
Solid white can be worn with anything.
Light blue and ecru are less formal than white.
French blue is striking for fashionable wear.
Stripes are great but be careful when mixing with certain suits and accessories.
Some colored shirts have white collars for accents which can be dressed up or down.
|
Ties
|
Background color can either match or contrast with suit, but be sure to wear colors within your palette.
Background colors of Burgundy (dark haired men), red (blue-reds are cool colors, yellow-reds are warm colors), navy, gold (gold is a warm color which can be worn by all but gray haired men) and dark purples go with most outfits.
Textured ties should be worn with heavier fabrics.
Patterned ties can be elegant and fashionable.
Silk ties are the best for business attire.
|

The Best Fabrics
|
Suits
|
100% Wool: Great business attire and long life span. Tropical weight or medium weight woolen are the most versatile.
Wool Blend, 55% polyester, 45% wool: Looks like 100% wool and less expensive, but not as durable.
Cotton Blend: Best in tightly woven pincord or poplin. Use for warmest weather. It has a tendency to wrinkle and is less formal in appearance.
|
Shirts
|
100% Cotton: Best fabric. Oxford cloth is casual. Egyptian or Sea Island has a smoother finish and is more formal. The higher the thread count, the better the quality and the more cost. These shirts need to be professionally laundered.
Cotton Blend: Should have more cotton than polyester. Requires touch up with steam iron. Often pills up around the collar due to the polyester separating from the cotton because of friction in wear.

Casual Business Dressing Tips
|
1.
|
Add a blazer or sweater to dress up your casual look.
|
2.
|
Ties should be treated as accessories, like jewelry on a women and should coordinate with the suit worn.
|
3.
|
Choose a belt in high quality leather as well as one that fits properly (not too small or too large) and replace it when it starts to show wear.
|
4.
|
Leather shoes should match or be darker than the trouser pants to give the impression or proportion. Loafers are the most comfortable and lace ups are the most formal. Socks with a subtle design can add class.
|
5.
|
Allow for shrinkage when selecting your wardrobe. Be sure that the items you normally carry will not affect the form or fit or the suit, such as wallet or keys. Sit down in garments before buying them. Have proper alterations done before wearing the outfits.
|
6.
|
Undershirts are recommended, but should never be visible.
|
7.
|
Hair should be short and well-groomed. If sporting a mustache, keep it neat, trimmed and well-groomed. Full beards are not recommended with business attire.
|
8.
|
Nails should be kept clean, short and neat. They are a very visible part of your professional attire.

What to Wear to a Special Event
|
Don't you just hate it when a special 'event' invades your diary and you just haven't got a thing to wear, and then, to make it worse, you realise that it's definitely one of those times when you're probably going to have to wear something more upmarket, possibly even a dress.
The trouble is that most of us have shifted into trousers - some of us permanently - for virtually every occasion. We clean the house in them, weed the garden in them, do the shopping in them, go to work in them, slob around the house in them, and even go out to the pub/dinner/theatre in them.
So when it comes to choosing whether to wear a dress, a lot of us go blank and wonder where on earth we're going to start looking.
Never fear! Help is here!
Now before you go screaming off to the nearest shopping mall and rampage your way along the aisles with nothing more than a determined, "I've got to find something to wear" through gritted teeth, let's take a moment to fathom out just what sort of outfit you actually need.
What sort of event is it?
If you've had a proper invitation (oh, don't you just yearn for those halcyon days when your hostess told you exactly how to dress and saved you the stress?) then one of the following might help you:
Black Tie or Formal means formal. Gentlemen wear tuxedos and ladies wear cocktail dresses, long dresses or dressy evening separates.
White Tie or Ultra-formal means ultra-formal. Gentlemen wear full dress suits, with white tie, waistcoat and shirt. Ladies wear long gowns.
Black Tie Optional Gentlemen have the option of wearing a tuxedo; this is a formal event so a dark suit and tie is the only alternative. Ladies wear cocktail dresses, long dresses or dressy evening separates.
Creative Black Tie leaves room for a touch of creativity in a gentleman's interpretation of formal wear; he could update a tuxedo with a black shirt and no tie. Ladies wear long or short dresses or evening separates.
Semi-formal is the trickiest of all dress codes. Usually it means that tuxedos are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening wedding (after 6 pm) would still require a dark suit for him, and a cocktail dress for her. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.
Cocktail Attire means short, elegant dresses for her and dark suits for him.
Dressy Casual usually means no jeans or shorts. Similar to business casual, but a touch dressier.
Casual generally means anything goes. Informal can mean the same as casual. However, when associated with a wedding or other special event, some form of decorum and good taste should prevail. A dress or dressy suit for her or a nice pair of non-suit trousers and shirt for him are informal, but still respectful of the event.
And if all else fails?
If the invitation doesn't specify the formality of the event, a softly-coloured suit or soft print dress for daytime or a little black dress for evening (after 6 pm) will take you almost anywhere.
Suggestions for a softly-coloured suit for each of the seasons:
Spring - ivory, camel, stone, taupe, soft peach, cornflower blue
Summer - soft white, dove grey, lavender, pastel blue
Autumn - cream, olive green, khaki, apricot, soft teal
Winter - white, stone, ice pink, ice blue, ice violet
Suggestions for a soft print for each of the seasons:
Spring - polka dots or stripes will match your vivacious personality
Summer - small designs or florals are a classic, elegant choice
Autumn - larger florals or swirls of colour show how open and approachable you are
Winter - geometric shapes in a dark colour on a lighter background are the best print choice for a formal day event
Alternative suggestions for a 'little black dress' for each of the seasons:
Spring - try chocolate brown, bright purple or clear navy
Summer - try charcoal grey, mulberry, or plum
Autumn - try deepest brown, aubergine or forest green
Winter - black is good, or try violet or burgundy for a change
PS. Dress your chap in a dark suit and he will look smart and acceptable anywhere.

What to Wear to a Job Interview
|
Job interviews can be nerve racking in themselves, but looking the part can give you the edge over the competition.
Here are some good ideas from the professionals:
Your Outfit
Men should wear a dark navy or grey two-piece business suit. Wear a white buttondown dress shirt with a conservative silk tie that matches the color of your suit. Your shoes should be well polished and should match your belt. Your socks should match your suit and be long enough not to show bare legs when you sit. Do not wear any jewelry (except watch) and make sure that your beard, mustache and nose hairs are trimmed.
The Fabric
What ever you wear, the fabric should be the best that you can afford ~ wool or silk or high quality blend ~ and should fit perfectly (pant legs and jacket sleevers not too long). See a tailor if you have to, but get it right. Your clothes should look like yours, not like you borrowed them from your roommate.
Accessorizing
Accessorize carefully. Again, you want your overall look to be polished and professional. Don't wear anything that draws undue attention to itself or gets in the way (no happy face ties or large buckled belts). Do not draw attention to pierced ears. Keep your cologne to a minimum and remember that your best accessory is "your smile".
Your Hands and Grooming
Get a manicure. Keep it simple with clean, neat hands. Make sure you use deodorant and antiperspirant. Stash some breath mints in your briefcase.
The Night Before
The night before lay out everything your will be wearing. Set the alarm and get enough rest.
